About Me

Suhaib Qasim is a 26-year-old writer and director from Chicago, Illinois. His work explores themes of morality, identity, and intergenerational relationships. At 17, he attended New York University Tisch School of the Arts' Summer Filmmaking Program, where he directed the short film Temporal Fears. The film was later selected for the All-American High School Film Festival in New York.

In 2019, Qasim wrote and directed the short documentary Pachacuti, shot in Cusco, Peru. The film screened at the CineYouth Festival in Chicago as part of the Time Regained: Documentary program.

After a years-long hiatus from filmmaking, he returned with the narrative short films Marigold, which won Best Narrative Short at the Chicago Indie Film Awards, and My Right Hand.

Qasim is currently developing his debut feature film, Take Five, a jazz-infused crime drama set in Chicago.
